Edgar Milton Williams of Glencoe, Ark., son of the late James Marvin Williams Sr. and Margaret Clay Williams, was born March 2, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio. He died Oct. 2, 2007, at West Vue Nursing Home in West Plains.
He was united in marriage to Neoda Marie Wholford on July 25, 1948, in Yuma, Ariz. He retired from the United States Navy after having served over 20 years, part of which was during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a Methodist.Survivors include: his son, Marvin Williams and wife Janice of Memphis, Tenn.; stepson, Howard Tinker of Tucson, Ariz.; grandson, Jimmy Williams of Memphis, Tenn.; eight step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Martha Stroud of Glencoe and Mary Faith Harmon of Highland; several nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by: his wife; three brothers, Jim, Clifford and Glenn Williams; and his father and mother.No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
