Edna Lou Seibert, 71, of Hardy died June 30, 2002, at Baxter County Regional Hospital in Mountain Home.
Born June 25, 1931, in Paducah, Ky., she was the daughter of Robert Murrell Schmidt and Nellie Mabel Howle Schmidt. She married Herbert W. Seibert Sept. 2, 1956, in Corinth, Miss. She moved with her family to Sharp County from Tennessee 36 years ago. She attended services at the Christian Tabernacle near Hardy. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; five sons and three daughters-in-law -- Danny and Hope Seibert of Mammoth Spring, Bill and Ruth Seibert of Paducah, Wayne Seibert of Newport, David and Deborah Seibert of Hurley, Miss., and Benjamin Seibert of Hardy; six daughters and sons-in-law -- Flora and Earl Schmitt of Paducah, Denise and Lonie Medlin of Hurley, Joanna and Tim Choat of Hardy, Lydia and Robbie Schamel of Littleton, Colo., Rhoda and Steve Hutchinson of Austin, Minn., and Rebekah and James Wilson of Kennett, Mo.; two sisters -- Geralene Hunt and Murielene Bruyns, both of Paducah; 39 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James A. Schmidt; and a sister, Barbara Nell Schmidt.
The funeral was July 3 at the Christian Tabernacle with the Rev. Charlie Cox officiating. Burial followed in the Eagle's Rest Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandsons -- Tony Schimdt, Israel Melin, David Melin, Michael Seibert, Mitchell Seibert, Tommy Seibert, Brandon Seibert, Michael Hutchinson, Justin Hutchinson and Cody Seibert.
Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
