Mary M. Farris, 65, of Evening Shade died Jan. 1, 2002, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born June 13, 1936, at Evening Shade, she was the daughter of Joseph Newton and Tina Medlock Kent. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church at Evening Shade where she served as church clerk for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Eddie Farris of the home; a son, Tony Farris of Cave City; a daughter, Rena Gail Bowser of Evening Shade; two brothers -- Boyd Kent of Judsonia and Frank R. Kent of Searcy; a sister, Billie Joe Martin of Searcy; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Shirley Farris; a brother, Sam Kent; and two sisters, Bernice Lovelace and an infant, Ida Mae Kent.
The funeral was Jan. 3 at First Baptist Church in Evening Shade with Noble Wiles and James Walker officiating. Burial followed in Evening Shade Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mike Kent, John Lovelace, Wes Brown, Dickey Dean, Brett Farris and Barry Farris.
Honorary pallbearers were William Wagster, Jack Huff-master and Eddie Rogers.
Arrangements were under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
