Frances Boling, 97, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., died Jan. 5, 2008, at Crown Point Nursing and Rehab in Horseshoe Bend. She was born Sept. 3, 1910, the daughter of the late Samuel T. and Minnie Jackson Williams in Melder, La.
She was united in marriage to Theodore "Ted" Boling on July 20, 1929, in Grand Cane, La. She spent her early years attending Dodd Collie for Girls in Shreveport, La., and later received her Bachelor's of Science degree from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was a member of the Alpha Chi and Alpha Delta Kappa and was an elementary teacher. The Bolings moved to Horseshoe Bend in 1977. Ted passed away in 1991, and she moved to Tyler, Texas, returning to Horseshoe Bend in 1997. She was an active member of the Horseshoe Bend Baptist Church.Survivors include: one daughter, Annette Anevola of Horseshoe Bend; one grandson, Keith Milstead and his wife, Rhonda, of Bailey, Colo.; a close friend, Sonny Minze; a niece; and nephew; and a host of other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; three brothers; six half-sisters; and three half-brothers.Funeral services were held Jan. 7 at the Horseshoe Bend Baptist Church with Bro. Gary Wallace and Bro. Eric Little officiating. Interment followed in the Evening Shadows Cemetery in Horseshoe Bend. Arrangements were by the Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.Pallbearers were Jimmy Boothe, Sonny Minze, Willie Moser, Mike Hilliker, Lowell Trovollion and Mike McCollum.
