Frieda JoAnn Burge, 42, of Cave City died Oct. 4, 2003, at the Cage City Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 24, 1961, at Chicago, Ill., to Thomas Neal and Anna Bell Phillips Burge. She was a 1979 graduate of Cave City High School, a member of the Eastern Star in Cave City, a member of the Sharp County Ham Radio Club, a Red Cross volunteer for many years, and a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City.
Survivors include her mother, Anna Bell Phillips Burge; a brother, William Neal Burge; her paternal grandmother, Geneva Ford Burge -- all of Cave City; several aunts and uncles; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Neal Burge; paternal grandfather, Ernest Burge; and her maternal grandparents, Clate and Bessie Phillips.
Services were Oct. 7 at First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City with Bro. Robbie Horn officiating. Burial was in the Palestine Cemetery west of Cave City with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Mark Smith, Mark Johnson, Mike Hobbs, Danny Neal, Scott Polston and Nathan Bradley.
Honorary pallbearers were her cousins and the Cave City High School graduating class of 1979.
