Fred Wayne "Buddy" Lindsey, 71, of Hardy died Aug. 8, 2003, at Regional Medical Center of NEA in Jonesboro.
Born Aug. 6, 1932, in Williford, he was the son of Wade Hampton Lindsey and Frieda Catherine Smalley Lindsey. He married Jenetta Powell Nov. 14, 1954, in Ravenden Springs. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from service in 1972 after serving his country for over 20 years. He was a member of the Missouri Fox Trotters Horse Breed Association and was a founding member of the Arkansas Fox Trotters Horse Breed Association. He was a member of Cherokee Village Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jenetta of the home; a son, Fred Wayne Lindsey II of Washington, Iowa; a daughter, Rhonda Lindsey Friend of Nashville, N.C.; a sister, Wanda Baldridge of Hardy; a granddaughter, Shannon Petty of Mountain Home; and three great-grandchildren -- Keith Allen Petty, Wyatt Cavin Petty and Jessica Catherine Petty.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral was Aug. 12 at Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel in Highland with the Rev. Floyd Rikard officiating. Burial followed with military honors in Baker Cemetery near Ozark Acres.
Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
Pallbearers were Carl Baldridge, Bryan Hokum, Ray Reynolds, Kevin Burton, Wes Austin and Eric Petty.
Honorary pallbearers were Keith and Wyatt Petty, Wayne and Lindsey Baldridge, Johnny Friend and Michael Briggs.
