Geraldine Bishop of Salem, daughter of the late Walter Edison and Bessie Marie (Yates) Hughes, was born on Jan. 10, 1925, in Williford, Ark. She died Dec. 7, 2006, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem, at the age of 81.
She was united in marriage to Clifford Bishop on Sept. 29, 1955, at Salem. She was a homemaker and a member of the Salem First Assembly of God.
Survivors include a son, Dewayne Bishop (Vickie) of Salem; a daughter, Wanda Koelling (Darrell) of Salem; four brothers, Roland Hughes (Donna) of Independence, Mo., Orland Hughes of Ozark Acres, Ark., W.E. Hughes (Marjorie) of Hardy, and Bobby Hughes (Tince) of Batesville; two sisters, Ann Baker of Ozark Acres, and Oletta Burton (Ray) of Highland; Four grandchildren, C.J. Bishop (Lucinda), Tesa Bishop, MaKollie Koelling, and Kullins Koelling; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a granddaughter, Cami Jo Koelling; and a sister, Werlene Crook.
The funeral services were held on Dec. 9 at the Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Interment was in the Salem Cemetery, with arrangements under the direction of the Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
Pallbearers were Dewayne Bishop, C.J. Bishop, Darrell Koelling, Tesa Bishop, Keith Guffey, Gray Gene Shrable, Lucinda Bishop, Robert Nelson, MaKollie Koelling and Kullins Koelling.
