Flora "Amie" Grimes, 80, of Ash Flat, formerly of Evening Shade, died Aug. 26, 2002, at White River Medical Center in Searcy.
Born June 27, 1922, in Izard County, she was the daughter of John and Estel Tadalock Farris. She was a homemaker and a member of Ash Flat Baptist Church, and formerly a long-time member of Evening Shade Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Francis Coleman of Ash Flat; a grandson, Mike Coleman of Bismark, Mo.; a granddaughter, Teresa Gourley of Rogers; two great-grandchildren -- Jeremy Coleman of Farmington, Mo. and Amie Coleman of Bismark; five brothers -- Bob Farris of Cave City, Floyd Farris of Salado, Ted Farris of Sidney, and Eddie Farris and Coy Farris, both of Evening Shade; a sister, Mamie Couch of Nashville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Grimes; and a brother, Claude Farris.
The funeral was Aug. 29 at Evening Shade Baptist Church with Robert Hutchinson officiating. Burial followed at Campground Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Sherman Ables, Bill Qualls, Howard Fulgham, Donald Qualls, Frankie Sharp, Gary Shell and John Ables.
