Gene Lester Wreggelsworth, age 69, of Horseshoe Bend died March 28, 2007, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born Aug. 25, 1937, the son of William Joseph and Ida Mae Jones Wreggelsworth in Benton, Harbor, Mich.
He worked at General Motors for 37 years, was a member of the Horseshoe Bend Lions Club, Auxiliary Police, Horseshoe Bend Bowling League and a member of the Horseshoe Bend Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include: his wife, Jill Luchene Wreggelsworth of Horseshoe Bend; two brothers, Ken Wreggelsworth of Lansing, Mich., and Gary Wreggelsworth of Jackson, Mich.; two sisters, Sharon Donaldson of Dewitt, Mich., and Frances Wreggelsworth of Romulus, Mich.; four grandchildren, Larry Whittenburg of Ward, Ark., Dorothy Turley of Springfield, Mo., Crystal Whittenburg of Springfield, Mo., and Cynthia Whittenburg of Springfield, Mo.; several nieces; and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Gloria Klatt Wreggelsworth; one daughter, Rene Whittenburg; and seven brothers and sisters.Services were held April 2 at the First Baptist Church in Horseshoe Bend with Wayne Heide officiating. A graveside service will be held April 6 at the South Ovid Cemetery in Ovid, Mich., with arrangements under the direction of the Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel in Horseshoe Bend.
