Ernest H. Clark, 97, of Evening Shade died April 1, 2002, at his home.
Born Aug. 17, 1904, at Evening Shade, he was the son of Jonathan G. and Lou Duncan Clark. He was a farmer and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include three sons, -- Paul Franklin Clark of Pough-keepsie, Michael Jerry Clark and Douglas Ray Clark, both of Paragould; four daughters -- Gladys Ann Shirley of Paragould, Florence Ozella Campbell and Betty Jane Branch, both of Evening Shade, and Caroline Jean Grigsby of Batesville; 33 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edith Marie Easley Clark; two sons, -- Charles Edward Clark and Johnny Wayne Clark; five brothers -- Roe Clark, Claude Clark, Homer Clark, Virgil Clark and Earl Clark; three sisters -- Myrtle Hawkins, Pearl Reed and Cilia Rogers; three grandsons -- Steven Dwight Shirley, John Wayne Dillard and John Dale Dillard; two great-grandchildren, Paul Franklin Clark and an infant.
The funeral was April 4 at Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Jerry Brown officiating. Burial followed in Powell's Chapel Cemetery east of Evening Shade.
Arrangements were under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
