Hurbelee "Hub" Everett

Hurbelee "Hub" Everett, son of the late Joseph Ralph Everett and Nellie Frances Couch Everett, was born Jan. 25, 1921, in Forty-Four, Ark. He died May 30, 2006, in Batesville at the age of 85.

He served in the United States Army During World War II. After serving in France, Normandy and Rhineland, he was honorably discharged. He was united in marriage to Norene Webb on Jan. 26, 1946, in Sage, Ark. To this union six children were born.

He was a farmer and attended the Brockwell Church of Christ.

Everett leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 60 years, Norene Everett of Oxford; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Connie and Debbie Everett, Curren and Velna Everett, Dennis and Pam Everett of Union, and Kenny Everett of Little Rock; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gwen and Gery Lawrence of Melbourne, and Jill and Kim Yancey of Wideman; one brother, Jerry Everett of El Paso, Ark.; and one sister, Wonnie Hallman of Washington; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; Hairl, Mark, James and Darrell Everett; and one sister, Caroline Wason.

The funeral services were held on June 2 at the Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with David Gibson and Harvey Elders officiating. Burial followed at Union Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home of Melbourne.

Pallbearers were Heath Everett, Jerad Everett, Marty Everett, Chad Everett, Clint Everett and Kyle Yancey.

Honorary pallbearers were Marshall Everett, Jack Adams, Kenny Morehead and Trey Lamb.
