Hallene Mahan Crabtree, 79, of Batesville, died Dec. 8, 2006, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
She was born May 13, 1927, at Cave City, the daughter of Samuel and Margie (Fleming) Mahan. She was a homemaker and worked at Intermed Nursing Home in Batesville for several years and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Randall Crabtree of Pleasant Plains, Ark.; one daughter, Sandra Thornton of Evening Shade; four grandchildren, Michael St. John of Sandtown, Jesse Smothers of Evening Shade, Tyler Crabtree of Salado, Ark., and Kaitlyn Crabtree of Flora; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Hern Crabtree; five brothers, Ozzie Mahan, Otis Mahan, Norman Mahan, Jewel Mahan and Buddy Mahan; and an infant sister.
The funeral services were held Dec. 11 at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Barry E. Wilkes officiating. Burial followed in the Mount View Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Ronald Curtis, Scottie Curtis, Dennis St. John, B.L. Barber, Buck Brosius and Bryan Andrews.
Honorary pallbearers were Johnnie Curtis, Cecil Bolton, Noil Mahan, Ray Crabtree and James C. Crabtree.
