Herbert "Mack" Wilson, 84, of Dowagiac, Mich., formerly of Williford, Ark., died Oct. 15, 2007, at the VA Hospital in Battle Creek, Mich. He was born Oct. 19, 1922, in Williford, the son of the late George and Ethel McKinney Wilson.
He married Velma Marie French who preceded him in death in 1959. He served his country during World War II and worked for Contech/Sealed Power in Dowagiac for many years.Survivors include: two sons, Herb Wilson and Dan and his wife Kathy Wilson all of Decatur, Mich.; four sisters, Pearl Lovell of Detroit, Lorene Wilson of Florida, Mary Tinkey and Louise Coffey both of Dowagiac; four brothers, Jay, Hubert and John Wilson all of Dowagiac and Brian Wilson of Missouri; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.Funeral services were held Oct. 22 at the Higginbotham Chapel in Hardy with Bro. Floyd Rikard officiating. Burial followed in Turkey Pen Cemetery near Hardy with arrangements under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Service.
