Harold Norman "Cotton" Langston, son of the late Owen John and Dessie Ima (Bishop) Langston, was born Sept. 25, 1927, in Heart. He died Oct. 20, 2005, at Salem at the age of 78.
He was united in marriage to Veda Mae Pendergrass on Oct. 22, 1949, at Heart and to this union a son was born.
He spent his working years as owner/operator of Langston Construction.
Langston was a member of Salem First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Veda Langston of Salem; a son, Michael Langston and wife, Carolyn, of Strafford, Mo.; sisters, Lorene Weaver of Salem, and Nancy Sepulvado of Mountain Home, Ark.; a grandson, Tad Langston and wife, Angi, of Strafford, Mo.; great-grandson, Hunter Langston of Strafford, Mo.; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Donald and Gene Langston.
The funeral service was held Oct. 22 at the Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem.
Burial followed in the Agnos Cemetery at Agnos with arrangements under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
Pallbearers were Terry A. Langston, Terry V. Langston, Chris Humphries, Tad Langston, Tracy Langston and Donald Humphries.
Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
