Hazel Pedigo Egeler Hubbard died June 4, 2006. She was at home under hospice care.
In recent years she lived in Amherst, N.Y., with her daughter and son-in-law, Paul and Barbara Parnell Kane. Prior to her stay in New York, she lived in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia with her son, Marvin Pedigo, his wife Brenda, and family.
She was born in Many Islands, Ark., in 1912. She was the oldest of eight children; six have preceded her in death.
Hubbard retired from the University of Michigan where she worked on the staff of the registrar. Her most recent interest has been to teach a senior Bible study at her church, to attend a ladies Bible study/prayer group and to accomplish reading through the Bible in a yearlong study.
She was a long time member of St. James Lutheran Church in Williamsville, N.Y.
She is survived by one brother, Ben Pohnert (Lorene), of Thayer Mo.; her two children, Barbara Parnell Kane and Marvin Pedigo; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at St. James Lutheran Church June 9.
