Herman W. Pruett, 62, of Hardy died May 21, 2003, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born May 25, 1940, in Hardy, he was the son of Mackie Lindsey Pruett and Hearman Pruett.
He was a disabled veteran and received the Bronze Star with (V), retired from Sun Gas and was a bus driver for the Highland School System. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Highland.
Survivors include his wife, Heidi Pruett of Hardy; his mother, Mackie Pruett of Hardy; three daughters -- Robin Collins of Hardy, Jeanie Marks of Cherokee, Ala., and Monika Nard of Fort Leonardwood, Mo.; two brothers -- George Pruett of Rutland Vt., and Norman Pruett of Hardy; a sister, Wanda Huffmaster of Hardy; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Pruett.
A funeral service with military honors were May 24 at First Assembly of God with Tim Turner officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Heath Funeral Home of Hardy.
