Harold W. Ware, 92, of Cherokee Village died Sept. 1, 2002, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem.
He and his wife, Edna, moved to Cherokee Village 26 years ago from St. Louis, where he worked as a salesperson for various wholesale companies.
He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Marine Corps. He was a member of Spring River Presbyterian Church, a 50-year member of the Wilson Masonic Lodge 432, a member of the Spring River Shrine Club. He also served 10 years as the Cherokee Village Lake Patrol and was past deacon of the Independent Congregational Church in St. Louis. He was a volunteer Cherokee Village firefighter and was also a member of the American Legion Post 184 in Jinnings, Mo., and DAV Chapter 001, in St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Minerva Dill Ware; his wife, Edna; and a sister.
No service was held. Burial was in Spring River Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden.
Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
