Icaphene Martin, of Salem, daughter of the late Marion Gilbreath and Eliza Martin Gilbreath, was born Dec. 2, 1933, in Pease Valley, Ark. She died Sept. 29, 2007, at Salem at the age of 73.
She was united in marriage to Arnold Martin on Feb. 21, 1953, in Salem. To this union three children were born.She was employed by Tri-County Shirt Factory in Salem for many years. She was a member of the Salem First Baptist Church.Survivors include: her children Jerry Martin of Glencoe and Barbara Poulette and husband Curtis of Thayer, Mo.; her grandchildren, Jacob Poulette and wife Katie of Abilene, Texas, and Coretta Boyce of Springfield Mo.; her sisters and brothers, Margie Gill, Claudine Coggins and Virgil Gilbreath, all of Ash Flat, Ray Gilbreath of Horseshoe Bend, Gerald Gilbreath of Salem and Helen Benton of Glencoe; and a host of other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by: her husband; a son, Jimmy Ray Martin; brothers and sisters, Floyd, Russell and Bertis Gilbreath and Virgie Mae Gill; and her father and mother.Funeral services were held Oct. 1 at the Salem First Baptist Church in Salem with burial in the Humphries Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
