John A. Orin, 87, of Cherokee Village died Aug. 1, 2005, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
He was born April 11, 1918, in Merrill, Wis., the son of George and Dora Orin. He was married to Louise Moor on June 10, 1944. Orin served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Before his retirement he was a material control manager at Harnischfeger Industries in Milwaukee, Wis., for 44 years. After retiring and moving to Cherokee Village in 1980, he spent the last 25 years happily golfing, bowling and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Louise of the home; four daughters, Barbara McIlquham of Poplar, Wis., Suzanne Wilson of Fairbanks, Alaska, Majorie Orin of Milwaukee, Wis., and Elizabeth Geil of Easley, S.C.; one son, Robert John Orin of Milwaukee; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Aug. 13 at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village with Pastor Brian Pummill officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
The family requests memorials be made to Peace Lutheran Debt Retirement Fund.
