Jurl Brown, 75, died June 6, 2002.
Born Feb. 5, 1927, at Pocahontas, he was the son of Cecil Willis and Jewel Jones Brown. He served in the Army during World War II. He was married to Thelma Thompson who preceded him in death April 12, 1993.
Survivors include six sons - Larry May Brown of Alton, Mo., Cecil Willis Brown of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Gary Don Brown of Alton, Mo., Jerry Newton Brown of Doniphan, Mo., Robert James Brown of Myrtle, Mo., and Michael Eugene Brown of Poplar Bluff; five daughters -- Jerri Folsom of Huffman, Texas, Jeaneen McGinnis of Huntsville, Ala., Donna Eldringhoff of Mountain View, Mo., Lisa Daniel of Athens, Ala., Patricia Adams of Camdenton, Mo.; 34 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother, Henry Brown.
The graveside service and burial was June 8 at Wiles Cemetery in Ash Flat.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Carr-Montgomery Funeral Home of Thayer, Mo.
