James Carles Croney Sr., 63, of Cave City died July 17, 2006, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
He was born March 27, 1943 at Luxora, Ark., the son of Claude Carles and Allie Mae (Dixon) Croney.
He was a retired truck driver, a U.S. Air Force veteran and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one son, James Carles Croney Jr. of Cave City; one daughter, Tonia Sue Croney of Cave City; one sister, Lucille Lewis of Valparaiso, Ind.; five grandchildren, Chad Croney, Joshua Croney, Ashley McCammon, Amanda McCullough and Eddie McCullough, all of Cave City; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia Ann Croney; one brother, John Croney; and two sisters, Mildred Croney and Lorene Raspberry.
The funeral services were held July 21 at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Jim Sweeney officiating. Burial followed in the Maxville Cemetery located north of Cave City with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Chad Croney, Josh Croney, Bobby Kerschner, Jeffrey Croney, Jimmy Lewis and Thomas Freeman.
