John David Lacy of Glencoe, son of the late William Harrison and Opal Gladys (Couch) Lacy, was born on Sept. 27, 1934, at Hunter, Ark. He died Oct. 30, 2006, at the John McClellan Veterans Hospital in Little Rock at the age of 72.
He was united in marriage to Dorothy Sybil Atwell on April 7, 1962, at Holly Grove, Ark. He worked for Riceland as a shipping foreman.
He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of the Salem VFW Post 9777.
Survivors include a son, Fred Dennis Ross of Norfolk, Va.; a daughter, Brenda Kay (Ross) Jones and husband Michael of Horseshoe Bend; three brothers, Jessie Lacy of Dexter, Mo., George Lacy of Vilonia, Ark., and Harold Lacy of Slidell, La.; five sisters, Elizabeth Almond of Little Rock, Dorothy Traylor of Brinkley, Ark., Wyona Johnson of Brinkley, Margaret Brough-ton of Salem, and Carol Ward of Stuttgart, Ark.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Lassiter of Williamsburg, Va., Jason Jones of Little Rock, Heather Ross of Tustin, Calif., and Fred Richard Ross of Tustin; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and three brothers, Jimmie, Billy and Harrison Lacy.
Graveside services and burial were held Nov. 3 at the Lone Tree Cemetery in Stuttgart, Ark., with Bro. Charles Johnson officiating. Arrange-ments were by Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
Memorials are preferred to the John McClellan Veterans Hospital in Little Rock.
