John Elliott Stoneham, 63, of Batesville died Oct. 19, 2004, at Rolling Hills Nursing Center in Batesville.
Born April 18, 1941, at Newburgh, N.Y., he was the son of Laurence John and Alice Marie McCormick Stoneham. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, an electrical engineer for General Electric, a member of the Professional Electrical Engineers Association and was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mona Burge Stoneham of Batesville; three brothers -- Larry Stoneham of Verbank, N.Y., Bob Stoneham of Reston, Va., and Tom Stoneham of Seattle; two aunts -- Maddie McCormick of San Antonio, and Edna Stoneham of Hicksville, N.Y.; five nephews -- Lt. Col. Michael Stoneham of Denver, Lt. Col. Patrick Stoneham of Colorado Springs, Colo., Peter Stoneham of Pittsburg, Pa., Kevin Stoneham of Tampa, Fla., and Marc Downey of Gastonia, N.C.; and three nieces -- Dr. Anne Stoneham of Boston, and Amanda Stoneham and Kristi Stack, both of Seattle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Stoneham.
A graveside service was Oct. 22 at Palestine Cemetery west of Cave City with Robbie Horne officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Millbrook, N.Y.
Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Burge, Bill Brashers, Kevin Stoneham, Bob Stoneham, Melissa Foster, Patricia Penn, Joyce Stoneham, Delois Burge and Billy Brashers.
