John Fielding Manuel, 49, of Cave City died in Tucson, Ariz., on Dec. 1. He was born March 15, 1956, at Paragould, Ark., to Thomas O. and Gracie Grimes Manuel. He was a truck driver and a painter. He was a member of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include his mother, Grace Grimes Kankelfitz of Cave City; one son, John F. Manuel Jr., of Marion; two daughters, Jennifer Gail Morales of Marion, and Jessica Diane Manuel of Ohio; six brothers, George Manuel of Cave City, Gerald Manuel of East Peoria, Ill., Phillip Manuel of Union City, Tenn., Thomas Manuel, Sammy Manuel and Tony Manuel, all of Cave City; four sisters, Margaret Kent of Memphis, Barb Mitchell of Jonesboro, Fay Melton of Washington, Ill., and Renee Greenhaw of Cave City; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas O. Manuel; stepfather, Robert Kankelfitz; stepbrother, Dennis Kankelfitz; sister, Susie Thrasher; and two nieces, Ronya Renee Taylor and Kelsey Danielle Thrasher.
The funeral service was held Dec. 8 at Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Roger Koonce and John Goodwin officiating. Burial followed in the Cave City Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were George Manuel Thomas, Manuel, Gerald Manuel, Sammy Manuel, Tony Manuel and Phillip Manuel.
Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Mitchell, Stephen Manuel, Brandon Manuel, Gray Caudle and Eric Manuel.
