James Hamilton Miller, 89, of Georgia, formerly of Cherokee Village, died Nov. 5, 2002, in Auburn, Ga.
Born Aug. 3, 1913, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Samuel Shade Miller and Lydia Bell Virginia Davis Miller. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served his country during World War II. He was retired from the Department of Defense. He moved to Cherokee Village from Glen Echo, Md., in 1982. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Cherokee Village.
Survivors include a son, James H. Miller Jr. of Naples, Fla.; two daughters -- Linda Jo Locke of Atlanta, and Nancy Riesebieter of Branson, Mo.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Nov. 9 at First Baptist Church in Cherokee Village with the Rev. Bob Fielding officiating. Burial followed in Oaklawn Cemetery in Highland.
Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
