Jessie Lee Holland, 72, of Williford died Aug. 15, 2003, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born in Bono, he served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and received the Purple Heart in 1952. He was a supervisor for the Chrysler Corporation in Dayton, Ohio, before retiring in 1989, to become a farmer in Williford. He was a member of Bristol Assembly of God Church in Williford.
Survivors include his wife, Nina Hughes Holland of the home; a brother, Herbert Holland of Camden, Ohio; a stepson, Gary D. (Peggy) Sawyers of Connersville, Ind.; stepdaughters -- Kathy (Dan) North of Cincinnati, and Tanya (Ed) Bolt of Cherokee Village; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and Emma Walker Holland; two half sisters and two half brothers.
The funeral was Aug. 18 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Allen Snearly officiating. Burial was at Bradford Cemetery in Williford with full military honors.
Pallbearers were Bryan Sawyers, Caleb Hale, Cody Cotter, Justin Cotter, Austin Cotter and Dean Holland.
Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Hardy.
Memorials may be made to the Bristol Assembly of God Church in Williford.
