Jess Horton Tisdale, 89, of Williford died June 16, 2003, at Eastern Ozarks Regional Health System in Cherokee Village.
Born Dec. 6, 1913, in Lepanto, he was the son of Jessie Lyle Tisdale and Lucy Washington Tisdale. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked many years as a self-employed welder. He moved to the Sharp County area in 1970 from California. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy of Oregon; a step-daughter, Vicky Vore of Georgia; a stepson, Ricky Tipton of Missouri; two brothers -- Gene Tisdale of Jonesboro, and Harry Tisdale of Florida; two sisters -- Bessie Gipson and Geneva Hoodenpyle, both of Jonesboro; and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives -- Odema and Shirley; a brother, James; and two sisters -- Irene and Chris.
The funeral was June 19 at Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel in Highland. Burial followed at Baker Cemetery in Ozark Acres.
The Rev. Gary Gipson officiated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
Nephews were pallbearers.
