He married Beatrice Danner on Sept. 19, 1957, in Ottawa, Ill.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific area and graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago with a degree in engineering. He held engineering supervisory and management positions in Texas, Kentucky and Illinois, retiring from Teepak Corporation in Danville, Ill., after 22 years. He moved to Horseshoe Bend in 1982. He loved woodworking and breadmaking.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice, of the home; and a daughter, Pamela, of Lake in the Hills, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, Christopher Risvold; and a sister, Ruth Edmondston.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.
Memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity, Alzheimer's Association or charity of choice.
