Joan Jones, 68, of Nelson-ville died Aug. 26, 2004, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born Oct. 7, 1935, at Manila, Ark., she was the daughter of Richard Benjamin and Dovie I. Forsythe Oates. She was a homemaker and member of Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church at Nelsonville.
Survivors include her husband, W.G. Jones Jr. of the home; two sons -- Tim Martin and Jamie Martin, both of Poughkeepsie; a daughter, Carla Medlock of Batesville; her mother, Dovie Oates of Manila; a brother, Neal Wayne Oates of Manila; two sisters -- Bobbie Brucks of Blytheville and Nataline Scott of Jackson, Miss.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and a nephew, Kerry Darr.
The funeral service was Aug. 28 at Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church at Nelsonville, with Phillip Lewallen officiating. Burial followed at the Lebanon Cemetery located at Nelsonville with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
