Joshua S. Marcum, 33, of Evening Shade died Jan. 4, 2005, at Taji, Iraq.
Born Aug. 27, 1971, in Illinois, he was the son of Otis Edward and Barbara Coats Marcum. He was a truck driver for Dowell Transport in Batesville and a member of Detachment 1, Company B, 3rd Battalion, 153rd Infantry Regiment of Camden.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Marcum of the home; his mother, Barbara Marcum or Evening Shade; three sons -- David Brannon, Jacob Brannon and Donovan Brannon, all of Evening Shade; two daughters -- Tiffany Marcum and Stephanie Marcum, both of Cave City; two brothers -- Jay Marcum of Littleton, Colo., and Ronald Marcum of Chicago; three sisters -- Dianna Marcum of Evening Shade, Margaret Burris of Hot Springs, and Linda Beckham of Pittsburgh, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was Jan. 12 at Evening Shade High School Gymnasium with Jerry Brown officiating.
Burial followed in Spotts Cemetery at Poughkeepsie.
