Jonathan Derrick McComas, 27, of Walnut Ridge, formerly of Hardy, died March 16, 2003, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born July 31, 1975, in West Plains, Mo., he was the son of Henry Oneal McComas and Lois Ann Huff. He worked as a machine operator for Laco Manufacturing in Walnut Ridge.
Survivors include his father, Henry O. McComas of Monette; his mother and stepfather, Lois A. and Glen Choat of Imboden; a son, Logan McComas of Hoxie; his loving companion, Casey Robbins of the home and her children, Jonathan Davis and Danielle Nicole Denham, both of the home; his ex-wife, Jamie Longmire of Hoxie; three brothers -- Jackie Lee McComas of South Dakota, Kevin and Susie McComas of Monette, and Jason and Joann McComas of Walnut Ridge; two sisters -- Patty and Paul Kiser of Winnebago, Ill., and Tricia and Ricky Riggs of Walnut Ridge; a stepsister, Crystal and Tim Daughhetee of Jonesboro; a brother-in-law, Johnnie Cooper of Walnut Ridge; grandparents, Walter and Betty Cook of Thayer, Mo.; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Madge McComas.
The funeral was March 18 at the Christian Tabernacle on Highway 175 near Hardy. The Rev. Herb Seibert officiated. Burial followed in Eagle's Rest Cemetery at the church.
Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
Pallbearers were Paul Curtis, John Curtis, Micah Curtis, David Curtis, Joel Neal and Jackie Foster.
Honorary pallbearers were Bruce McComas, Johnny Cooper and Barry Raby.
