James Robert McGlinn, 82, of Ozark Acres died Jan. 2, 2004, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born Jan. 4, 1921, in Delphi, Ind., he married Dorothy Beetsma Sept. 16, 1942, in Demotte, Ind. He retired after farming for many years in Hebron, Ind. He moved to Arkansas in 1980 from Indiana. He was a member of the Ozark Acres Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years and was a volunteer ambulance driver for over 10 years. He was a member of Spring River Presbyterian Church in Hardy.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of the home; a sister, Elsie Filipowicz, of Kelsey-ville, Calif.; two brothers-in-law -- Richard Beetsma of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Harold Beetsma of Chilicothe, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral was Jan. 6 at Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel with the Rev. Stan Jagow officiating. Burial followed in Baker Cemetery near Ozark Acres with arrangements under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spring River Presbyterian Church or to the American Heart Association.
