Joseph N. "Joe" Neal, 22, of Calamine died Aug. 3, 2004, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born Feb. 3, 1982, he was the son of John Norman and Mary Kathleen Hill Neal. He was a sawmill worker, a musician and a member of Apple Hill General Baptist Church at Ward.
Survivors include his parents -- John Norman and Mary Kathleen Hill Neal of Calamine; a brother, Adam Neal of Calamine; a sister, Ginger Debose of Jacksonville; his paternal grandparents -- Norman and Nancy Witcher of Beebe; his paternal grandmother, Beatrice King of Conway; his maternal grandparents -- Raymond and Mae Hill of Lonoke; his paternal great-grandparents -- John and Helen Reed of Conway; his paternal great-grandmother, Vassie Hodge of Cabot; and a nephew, Caleb Rash of Jacksonville.
He was preceded in death by a niece, Hannah Gayle Rash, and an uncle, Raymond Gail Hill.
The funeral was Aug. 6 at Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with the Rev. Cliff Clark officiating. Burial followed in the Neal Family Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Michael Mobley, Gregory Parsley, Jimmy Mize, Mark Mitchell and Phillip Duncan.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a memorial fund set up at the Bank of Cave City.
