Roy Lee Johnson, 82, of Hardy died March 15, 2003, at his home.
Born Oct. 2, 1920, in Pocahontas, he was the son of Gurtie Stacy Johnson Pratt and Charlie L. Johnson. He was a retired construction worker, a member of Hardy First Baptist Church, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include three sons -- James Johnson of Cherokee Village, Raymond Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and William Johnson of Grand Island, Fla.; a brother, David Johnson of Hardy; two sisters -- Martha Booth of Hardy, and Martha Nell Wavrick of Hardy; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Lee Johnson, in June of 1995; his parents; and two brothers -- Charles Johnson and Irvin Pratt.
The funeral was March 19 at Heath Oak Hill Chapel with O.C. Wright officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Heath Funeral Home of Hardy.
