James R. Goldston, 86, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died Nov. 1, 2007, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born Aug. 11, 1921, in Gammell Mines, Ala., the son of Charles Goldston and Anna Bell (Turner) Goldston.
He retired from Douglas County Hospital as a maintenance engineer. Moving from Omaha, Neb., he and his wife have lived in Cherokee Village for 22 years. He loved to play horseshoes and woodworking.He is survived by; his wife, Joyce (Kastrup) Goldston of the home; one daughter, Judy Koch and husband Eugene of Fremont, Neb.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildrenHe was preceded in death by: his parents; two sons, James L. and Johnny Goldston; and one daughter, Nancy Busch.A memorial service was held Nov. 29 at the Hardy Presbyterian Church. Arrange-ments were under the direction of the Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland.
