John Sullivan, 81, of Hardy was born Feb. 25, 1924, in Hardy the son of Neal Sullivan and Margaret Sample Sullivan. He died Aug. 30, 2005. He was employed in television repair and was a veteran of the military, having served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include four sons -- John D. Sullivan Jr. of Hardy, Michael Sullivan, Robert Sullivan and Matthew Sullivan, all of Hardy; nine daughters -- Jamie Morgan of Williford, Margaret Duncan of Hardy, Lucinda Benton of Ft. Smith, Patricia Sample of Harrisbug, Ark., Mary Jo Hollis of Camp, Ark., Kathy Sullivan of Ash Flat, Susan Baker of Cherokee Village, Martha McCandless of Hardy, and Lisa Montgomery of Horseshoe Bend; one brother, Bob Sullivan of Sherwood, Ark.; two sisters, Ruby Neal Wilbank of Knoxville, Tenn., and Catherine Puge of Ft. Smith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Sue Sullivan; his parents; and a grandson, Bob Lynn Duncan.
Funeral arrangements were held Sept. 2 at the Heath Oak Hill Chapel with Floyd Rikard officiating.
Burial was in the Richardson Cemetery in Hardy with arrangements under the direction of Heath Oak Hill Chapel of Hardy.
Pallbearers were J.B. Baker, Ray Hollis III, Wesley Sullivan, Christopher Sample, John Thomas Stirling and Matt Sullivan.
Honorary pallbearers were Brooks Sample, Matt Benton, Garrett Huscher-Sullivan, Drew Stirling, Adam Montgomery and Billy Gildersleve.
