Kenneth Albert Parson, 73, of Cherokee Village died Nov. 13, 2004, at Eastern Ozarks Regional Health System in Cherokee Village.
Born at home March 31, 1931, in Clarksville, Iowa, he was the son of Leslie and Eldora Mahake Parson. On Dec. 1, 1956, he married Cora Schalts in Waterloo, Iowa. He served in the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Cherokee Village United Methodist Church.
He was employed by John Deere Corporation in Waterloo as an assemblyman until becoming disabled in 1971. In 1973 the Parsons moved from Waterloo to Cherokee Village.
Survivors include his wife, Cora Parson; a son, Kenny and Pam Parson; a daughter, Catherine Watts of Cherokee Village; a sister, Jo Ann Lampe of New Hampton, Iowa; grandchildren -- Krystal and Bianca Sawyer, K.C. Carson, Preston Parson and Adam Reed of Cherokee Village; two nieces of New Hampton and Wyona, Iowa; and a nephew of Waucoma, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Bertha Parson; stepfather, Robert Mason; brothers -- John and Vernon Parson; and a sister, Lorraine Parson.
The funeral will be Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. at the Tri County's Cherokee Chapel with the Rev. Roy Durham officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Highland.
Arrangements are under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital.
