Kathleen Jackson Clifft, daughter of the late Samuel Jud Johnson and Clara Horton Jackson Johnson, was born March 27, 1923, in Ash Flat. She died Jan. 10, 2006, at her home in Myron, Ark., at the age of 82.
She was united in marriage to James Robert (Jack) Clifft Jr. on Nov. 9, 1940, in Ash Flat, and to this union one daughter was born. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
During her working years she was employed by the Franklin Post Office. She retired after 20 years of employment. Kathleen was an active member of the Myron Baptist Church, offering her time and talent as a Sunday school teacher, church secretary and pianist.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Linda Carol and Charles Cooper of Myron; three sisters, Cleffie Bates of Myron, Jean Barttelt of Jonesboro, and Donna Sue Taylor of Evening Shade; three brothers, Boyd Jackson of Ash Flat, Leonard Johnson of Nixa, Mo., Jimmy Johnson of Hardy; three grandchildren, Kathy Willenbrink and her husband, Mark, of St. Louis, Garry Cooper and his wife, Juanita, of Batesville, and Lyndal Cooper and his wife, Jessica, of Myron; 11 great-grandsons; seven great-granddaughters; one great-great-grandson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years;, James (Jack) Clifft Jr.; and two brothers, Arlis Johnson and Truman Johnson.
The funeral service was held Jan. 12 at Myron Baptist Church with Michael Stinnett officiating.
Burial followed in the Godwin Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers were Gary Cooper, Lyndal Cooper, Cheston Cooper, Chad Walter, Philip Walter and Cody Cooper.
