Maurine M. Kramer, 77, of Batesville, Ark., died March 4, 2002, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born Sept. 12, 1924, at Evening Shade, she was the daughter of Hal Robb and Caruth Shaver Moore. During World War II she was in the WACs where she served in the administrative office at Fort Belvedere, Va., and the Third Army headquarters in Atlanta where she made sergeant. She worked at Sharp County Courthouse in Ash Flat for many years; was a former mayor of Evening Shade; and was currently working as deputy 9-1-1 coordinator of the Independence County Office of Emergency Service. She was a member of Central Avenue Methodist Church in Batesville.
Survivors include a son, four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; and a brother.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
