Lemuel Everett Bartholomee, died Dec. 24, 2005, at his home in Thayer at the age of 80 years.
He was born June 24, 1925, in Chicago, Ill., to Lemuel A. and Florence Smith Bartholomee.
He received numerous awards and medals and earned the rank of first lieutenant for service rendered his country. He was a member of the American Legion Post 344 in Thayer.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred, of the home in Thayer; one daughter, Barbara Bartholomee, of Columbus, Ohio; and one sister, Winnie Russell, and husband, Ray, of Helotes, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, David Bartholomee; one brother, David Bartholomee; and one sister, Shirley Ackley.
The funeral service was held at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Erman Croney officiating. Burial followed in the Thayer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc.
Pallbearers were Don Smith, Lee Childers, Doyle Fink, Carl Bradley, B.J. Williams and Earl Dodge.
