Leo Loyd Griffin, 71, of Batesville, Ark., died March 3, 2008, at the Batesville Health Care Center in Batesville. He was born on Sept. 29, 1936, at Lexa, Ark., the son of the late Otto and Mildred Griffin.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, retired from Con Agra Foods in Batesville and was a member of the Desha First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.Survivors include: his wife, Betty Ann Griffin of the home; one son, Dacey Derrick Griffin; several nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by: his parents; two brothers, Horace Griffin and Johnny Griffin; and one sister, Evon Shelby.Funeral services were held March 7 at the Desha First Baptist Church in Desha with Bro. Troy Sharp officiating. Burial followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery located at Batesville with arrangements under the direction of the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.Pallbearers were Brett Farris, Mark Faser, Keith Harmon, Lee Harmon, David Kerlin and Dloyd Sparks.Honorary pallbearers were Dan Moody, Max Edwards, Glen Willie, Tim Hicks and Fred Bufford.
