Leland F. Mize, 73, of Strawberry died April 17, 2003, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born March 7, 1930, at Calamine, he was the son of Tolah and Mildred Campbell Mize. He was assistant vice president for the Peoples Bank of Strawberry for several years and a farmer. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Smithville and was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Mize of the home; a son, Robby Mize of Strawberry; two daughters -- Linda Hoggard Davis of Strawberry, and Peggy Doyle of Cabot; a sister, Daphene Hughes of Canfield, Ohio; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and eight step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Ronald Gene Mize.
The funeral was April 21 at Strawberry High School Gymnasium with Tommy Boles and Howard Brewer officiating. Burial was in Lanscaster Cemetery north of Strawberry.
Arrangements were under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Steve Turner, Gary West, Jerry Foley, Donald Richey, Max Mize and Sloan Durham.
Honorary pallbearers were Bernard Robbins, Joe Keith Robbins, Homer E. Mize, Homer D. Mize, Leland I. Mize, George Mize, Steve Mize, Frankie Campbell and Earl Dean Campbell
