Lois Monell Roach, 77, of Sandtown died Jan. 21, 2003, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born Sept. 14, 1925, at Cave City, she was the daughter of E.M. and Georgeann Cathey Montgomery. She was retired from Caterpillar in Morton, Ill., and attended the Methodist Church in Morton, and Pool's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Sandtown.
Survivors include her husband, William H. Roach; three sisters -- Alma Lassiter and Audrey Roach, both of Cave City, and Molly Johnson of Cape Giradeau, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers -- John Montgomery, Julius Montgomery and William Montgomery; and two sisters -- Berniece Story and Mildred Hastings.
The funeral was Jan. 23 at Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bobby Shepherd officiating. Burial followed in Roselawn Memorial Gardens at Batesville.
Pallbearers were Jeral Hastings, Donald Hastings, Dean Hastings, Calvin Ray Lassiter, Paul Junior Lassister and Eric Roach.
Honorary pallbearers were Donald Simmons and Ed Turnbough.
Arrangements were under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
