Lois Opal Weaver, 87, daughter of the late Tom Drake and Bessie Hackworth Drake, was born March 6, 1916, in Saddle and died March 18, 2003, in Jonesboro.
She was united in marriage Oct. 31, 1933, in Ash Flat to Harrald O. Weaver, who followed her in death March 21, 2003.
She was a member of the Mammoth Spring Church of Christ. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters -- Genella Thornton and Sue Wooldridge and husband, Paul, all of Mammoth Spring; five grandchildren -- Marty Wooldridge and Paula Cooper, both of Mammoth Spring, Van Weaver Jr. of Fayetteville, Shannon Cameron and husband, David, of West Plains, and Donnie Thornton of Mammoth Spring; eight great-grandchildren -- Seth and Garrett Wooldridge, Houston Cooper, Van Weaver III, Kenny Weaver, Erin Cameron, and Melissa and Evan Thornton; a daughter-in-law, Jerri Weaver, of Sturkie; special friend, Mike Osbourn, and his family of Fort Gibson, Okla.; three brothers, Boyce Drake and wife, Claudine, of Mountain Home, Ivan Drake and his wife, Pat of Wenatchee, Wash., and and Burt Drake and his wife, Estelle, of Wenatchee; one sister, Lola Bowling, of Harrison; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Van Doran Weaver; one grandson, Kenny Weaver; one brother, Doyle Drake, and one sister, Ella McCord.
Services were March 20 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Mo., with Walton Weaver and Dalton Weaver officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery at Mammoth Spring with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Donnie Thornton, Van Weaver Jr., David Cameron, Marty Wooldridge, Mark Cooper and Mike Osbourn. Honorary pallbearers were Edd Washam, Jackie Flynn, Robert Johnson, Arliss Powell, Bill Langston and Ron Taylor.
