Lloyd Robert "Bob" Lininger, 84, of Walnut Ridge, formerly of Cherokee Village, died Sept. 16, 2006, at his residence.
He was born April 8, 1922, in Hazelton, W.Va., son of Lloyd Alexander and Mary Ann Bevins Lininger. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II, was a construction worker and a member of the Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church.
Lininger was united in marriage to Mary Dean Darby Jan. 5, 1953. He was preceded in death by his parents, six sister, four brothers and two grandchildren.
Lininger is survived by his wife, Mary Lininger of the home; seven daughters, Paula Kay Kowalke of Painesville, Ohio, Cathy Lininger of Arlington Height, Ill., Bobbie French of Walnut Ridge, Kimberly Roney of Honolulu, Hawaii, Debrah Jean Peters of New Market, Md., Beth Willison of Walnut Ridge and Amy O'Marah of Hanover, Park, Ill.; two sons, Tom Lininger of Gautier, Miss., and Tim Lininger of Milton, Wisc.; a brother, Earl Lininger of Pittsburg, Pa.; 20 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Sept. 20 at the Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Derrick Collins officiating. Local arrangements were by the Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie.
