Leo F. Smith, 85, of Horseshoe Bend died Oct. 25, 2005, at the Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Ark.
Smith was born Oct. 17, 1920, in Danvers, Ill., the son of the late George and Cora Tremble Smith.
He was a veteran of the United Sates Army, having served during World War II. Smith was a retired farmer. He was a former member of the Lions Club, and a member of the AARP and the Illinois Club. Smith was a member of the United Methodist Church in Horseshoe Bend.
Survivors include his wife, Neva O. Smith, of the home; two sons, Larry and Marge Smith of Gridley, Ill., and Terry Smith of Batesville; three stepsons, Bob and Judy Renfro of Baton Rouge, La., David and Lajuanna Renfro of Lubbock, Texas, and Dick and Dell Renfro of Clovis, N.M.; two stepdaughters, Sue Gallagher of Wheeler, Texas, and Mary Huckert of Sapulpa, Okla.; one brother, Duane Smith of Normal, Ill.; one sister, Dorothy McClure of Bloomington, Ill.; one grandchild; 12 stepgrandchildren; 13 stepgreat-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Oct. 29 at the Hudson Cemetery in Hudson, Ill., with Pastor William Vandevoort officiating. Local arrangements were under the direction of the Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel of Horseshoe Bend.
