Minnie Alice Marsh, 99, of Marshall, Mo., was born Oct. 23, 1907, in Saline County, Mo., the daughter of the late Warren A. Smith and Minnie Alice Caldwell Smith. She died Jan. 5, 2007, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.
On Aug. 7, 1928, in Saline County, she married John Lester Marsh, who preceded her in death on June 24, 1990.
She moved to Cherokee Village in 1969 from rural Marshall, returning to Marshall in 1999.
She was a graduate of Booneville High School and a 1954 graduate of Missouri Valley College. She was a retired school teacher, having taught for 40 years, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Spring River Presbyterian Church in Hardy and the Cherokee Village Indians Lions Club Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son, Charles Warren Marsh and wife Ruth of Marshall; two grandsons, Christopher Marsh and wife Denise and Brent Marsh and wife Leslie; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, W. Luther Smith, Gervas P. Smith and Walton A. Smith; and two sisters, Mary Bramble and Maude Nixon.
Graveside services were held Jan. 11 at Mt. Olive Cemetery near Marshall. Rev. Randy Shannon officiated.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Christopher Marsha nd Brent Marsh, and great-grandsons, Benjamin Marsh, Aaron Marsh, William Marsh and Thomas Marsh.
