Edward Maynard, 70, of Cherokee Village died Sept. 29, 2002, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born Jan. 8, 1932, in Heisey, Ky., he was the son of William Maynard and Rebecca McCoy Maynard. He was employed in heavy truck management, was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Survivors are his wife, Anita Maynard of Cherokee Village; two sons -- Keith Maynard of Waynesboro, Ind., and Kent Maynard of Ferndale, Mich.; two daughters -- Doreen Barqatz of Addison, Ill., and Maureen Diaz of Aucorail, Ill.; a sister, Nancy Clerk of Jamestown, Ky.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The funeral was Oct. 5 at Peace Lutheran Church of Cherokee Village with Pastor Brian Pummill officiating. Burial followed in Peace Lutheran Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements were under the direction of Health Funeral Home of Hardy.
