Mona Louise Smith Bassham, 68, of Marshall, formerly of Moko, died June 2, 2003, at Marshall.
Born Nov. 1, 1934, at Dawt, Mo., she was the daughter of Marion Lawrence and Dorothy Hambelton Smith.
She was married to James Alvin Bassham. She spent her working years as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a nurse's assistant at West Vue Nursing Home. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two sons -- Darrell Bassham of Salem, and Ricky Perry of West Plains, Mo.; three daughters -- Carolyn Pitcock of West Plains, Regina Jackson of Salem, and Deborah Callahan of Thomasville, Mo.; a sister, Loretta Carter of West Plains; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four brothers -- Donald Ray, Earl, Dale and Darrell Ray Smith; a half-sister, Norma Lea Green; and a great-grandson, Levi Shane Wilcox.
The funeral was June 6 at Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem with Duane Flood officiating. Interment was in State Line Cemetery at Moko.
Pallbearers were Doug Carter, Matthew Perry, Glenn Jackson Jr., Alan Gorham, Walter Phipps and Joe Callahan.
Arrangements were under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
