Martha Rachel Blessinger, 73, of Cherokee Village died July 25, 2003, at Eastern Ozarks Regional Health System in Cherokee Village.
Born Aug. 6, 1929, in Orange County, Ind., she was the daughter of Charlie Terrell and Bertha Mae Owen Terrell. She worked in a furniture store for many years. She moved to the Sharp County area 10 years ago from Loogootee, Ind.
Survivors include her husband, Roman Blessinger of the home; five stepsons -- Tim Blessinger of Dale, Ind., Dave Blessinger of Huntingburg, Ind., Brian Blessinger of Jonesboro, Patrick Blessinger of Marietta, Ga., and Jeffery Blessinger of Philadelphia; four stepdaughters -- Norita Nigg of Jasper, Ind., Sandra Walt of Tell City, Ind., Debra Zehr of Cannelton, Ind., and Michell Welq of Loogootee; two brothers -- Charles Terrell of Shoals, Ind., and Laverne Terrell of Washington, Ind.; three sisters -- Eldene Gibbs of Shoals, Maxine Hopkins of Loogootee, and Lavonda Krodel of Houston; nine stepgrandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters and two brothers.
A graveside service was July 28 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Highland with Johnny Williams officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
